Frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you send orders to anywhere in the world?
Yes! We ship to most countries around the world. Postage costs will vary depending on your location and the size/weight of your order. Please visit our Postage page for full details on international shipping rates and estimated delivery times, or contact us if you have a specific question about shipping to your country.

Can I combine many orders together to pay less in postage?
Absolutely — and we encourage it! If you are purchasing multiple items, we are happy to combine them into a single shipment to save you money on postage. Please contact us before paying so we can calculate the combined postage cost for you. Do not pay for items separately if you want them combined, as this makes it much harder to adjust after the fact.

Is my order covered by insurance?
We take great care in how we pack every order, but if you are purchasing higher-value items we strongly recommend selecting a tracked and insured postage option at checkout. Please check our Postage page for the insurance and tracking options available to your region. If you have concerns about a specific item, feel free to get in touch and we can discuss the best shipping option for you.

What are collectors talking about when they say Cover Date or On-Sale date?
Cover Date: The month and year printed on the cover of a comic. This is the standard identifier used by collectors and price guides, and traditionally represented the off-sale date — the month the comic was to be pulled from newsstands, not when it first arrived. On-Sale Date: The actual date the comic became available for purchase, whether on a newsstand or at a comic shop. This typically falls weeks or even months before the cover date, and in rare cases may not align with the indicia date printed inside the book.

Can I visit the Showroom?
Our Showroom and Events centre is currently under construction and we are very excited about it! The Grand Opening is currently scheduled for Saturday, August 8th, 2026. Keep an eye on our Showroom page and Events page for updates as we get closer to opening day.

What does comic grading mean?
Comic grading is the process of assessing the physical condition of a comic book and assigning it a numerical grade on a standardised scale, from 0.5 (Poor) up to 10.0 (Gem Mint). The grade reflects factors such as the condition of the cover, spine, pages, staples, and any defects like tears, creases, writing, or staining. A higher grade means a better-condition comic, which generally means a higher value to collectors.

What does CGC comic grading mean?
CGC stands for the Certified Guaranty Company, a professional, independent third-party grading service based in the USA. When a comic is submitted to CGC, their experts examine it, assign it an official grade on the 0.5–10.0 scale, and then seal it in a tamper-evident hard plastic case (called a "slab") with a label displaying the grade, issue details, and a unique certification number. A CGC grade is widely trusted by collectors worldwide as an objective, verified assessment of a comic's condition.

What does comic slabbing mean?
"Slabbing" refers to the process of having a comic professionally graded and then encapsulated in a hard, clear plastic case by a company such as CGC. The sealed case protects the comic from further handling, environmental damage, and tampering. A slabbed comic cannot be read without breaking the case, but the rigid enclosure preserves its condition and grade permanently — making slabs ideal for high-value collectibles.

What is your returns policy?
We want you to be completely happy with your purchase. If an item arrives significantly not as described, please contact us within 7 days of receiving it and we will work with you to resolve the issue, whether that is a return, exchange, or refund. As all of our stock is vintage collectible material, please make sure you read the item description and examine all provided photos carefully before purchasing. We are always happy to provide additional photos or information on request.

Do you sell any NEW comics?
No — our focus is entirely on back issues, vintage comics, and certified (CGC-graded) collectibles. We do not stock new release comics. If you are looking for a specific back issue, a key issue, or a graded slab, you are in the right place! Feel free to contact us if you are searching for something specific and we will let you know if we have it in stock.

What are the different ages of comics?
Collectors generally divide comic book history into distinct eras. The Platinum Age covers the very earliest comics from roughly the 1890s to 1937. The Golden Age (1938–1956) introduced iconic characters like Superman and Batman. The Silver Age (1956–1970) brought a new wave of superhero creativity with Marvel's rise. The Bronze Age (1970–1985) introduced darker, more complex storytelling. The Copper Age (1985–1991) and the Modern Age (1991–present) follow, with the Modern Age sometimes broken into further sub-eras. The boundaries between ages are debated among collectors, but these are the most widely accepted definitions.

Do you buy comics?
No, not at the moment. We have a massive amount of stock to list on the website but once that is done we will buy comics and collections again. Once we are ready to buy more there will be an anouncement of the front page of the website.

How do you protect the comics when shipping?
We take packaging very seriously — a comic that arrives damaged is no good to anyone! Unslabbed comics are bagged and boarded and then placed between rigid cardboard backing boards inside a sturdy cardboard mailer, designed to prevent bending. For larger orders or higher-value items we use reinforced boxes with additional padding. CGC-slabbed comics are wrapped and packed with foam or bubble wrap inside a well-fitted box to prevent any movement during transit.

How should I store my comics?
The key enemies of comic books are moisture, heat, light, and acid. For best results, store your comics in acid-free polypropylene bags with acid-free backing boards, and keep them upright in an acid-free comic storage box. Store boxes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of areas prone to humidity, such as garages or basements. Avoid rubber bands or anything that puts pressure on the cover. For very high-value books, consider a climate-controlled environment or professional archival storage solutions.

Do you sell anything else?
Primarily we sell comic books — back issues, key issues, runs, and CGC-graded slabs spanning all ages from Golden Age through to Modern. We may also occasionally have related collectibles such as original comic art, magazines, or memorabilia. The best way to see what is currently available is to visit our Showroom page or check our eBay store. If you are after something specific, drop us a line — we have a large inventory and not everything is listed online at any given time.
